U.S. Supplier Qualification

Find out what qualifications are needed for suppliers to participate in the Branded Program

Regional Requirements

In order to be eligible for the Branded Program, your U.S. supplier must have a headquarters in one or more of the following states in the Midwest (Food Export-Midwest) and/or the Northeast (Food Export-Northeast) regions.

Iowa
Kansas
Michigan
Minnesota
Missouri
Nebraska
North Dakota
Ohio
South Dakota
Wisconsin

Northeast States

Connecticut
Delaware
Maine
Massachusetts
New Hampshire
New Jersey
New York
Pennsylvania
Rhode Island
Vermont

Not in these regions? If your U.S. supplier is not located in the Midwest or Northeast regions of the United States, they can still apply for the Branded Program through other State Regional Trade Groups:

Additional Qualifications

Company Size

Must be a small company as defined by the U.S. Small Business Administration

Business Entity

Must be a registered business entity in the United States

Product Supply

Must have adequate resources and a continuous supply of products in markets where funding is requested

U.S. Content

Products must contain at least 50% U.S. agricultural content

Product Labeling

Products must be clearly labeled as Product of the U.S.

Commodity Coverage

Products cannot be covered by another commodity group

Eligible Products

Products must be value-added agricultural products including:

Food ingredients
Foodservice products
Consumer food products
Feed ingredients
Pet food products
Specific wood products
Seafood**
Hemp***
Other agricultural products

Special Product Notes

** Seafood Products

Eligible seafood products must be of 100% U.S. origin unless they are processed or used as an ingredient.

*** Hemp Products

Hemp products must comply with all local, state, federal or international country laws and regulations.

Submit Pre-Qualification

Your U.S. supplier submits a pre-qualification on our U.S. website: www.foodexport.org

Create Marketing Plan

Once qualification is approved, you work with your U.S. supplier to create a proposed marketing plan

Submit Application

Your U.S. supplier submits an application on our website with the marketing plan details
